Media Accreditation!

That’s right, this sports photographer right here got their first ever media pass!

So what?”, you might ask, “What does that mean?

Well mechanically, it means I’m now allowed to go onto the playing area at certain football matches to capture the players, coaches, and of course, the game!

But what does it mean to me?

It means my photography has developed to a point that others now recognise it as professional. ie my sports photography is good enough. Which is a wonderful piece of validation for me! (yay).

So what have I done with it?

So far I’ve attended 8 matches from the Football West NPL Night Series, which has given me a real taste of the speed of these games, the challenges of poor lighting (send more ISO!), and the sheer talent that is on display each and every week. Seriously, for $20 a family of four can go and watch A-league quality games being played every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night (follow the NPL night series on socials for fixture updates).

I’ve also had the absolute pleasure of meeting some more awesome sports photographers and sports videographers. Seriously, everyone has been incredibly welcoming and friendly, looking at collaboration over competition, and all just there to get the best shots we can of the action. Special shout out to Maxand Dale who are a seemingly permanent fixture at these matches, thanks so much for all your chats and input guys!

So what’s next?

For now, I’m going to keep shooting these matches, keep making the connections and delivering awesome photos, and most of all, keep following my passion for sports photography.
